Featured Cat--Tucker

Bliss on a cold January day!

Hey Mom, can you open that bag of "Whisker Lickin's" a bit faster?

Poor Tucker. A roaming "unneutered" cat came up on our step, deemed Tucker a threat (he was not) and when Terry got out there, the fur was flying. Tucker was left with a couple puncture wounds which eventually needed vet care. Janae got this collar to stop the incessant licking.
He will be fine but all pet owners of unneutered pets--Beware--your cat will NOT be fine if he stalks over here again!
Tucker was so good at the vet--he even called him a "gold star" patient. Way to go Tuck!

Logging crew

A bright and early Sat. start~ Justin, Janae and Kelly come to help. Drew let us use 2 of his chainsaws so a LOT got done. Justin and Kelly were hanging from the "rafters" sawing away on the huge maple.

Thank you again dear family for your help! We enjoyed the "Blind Men from Alabama" concert in the evening. They were great--highly recommend you see them if they are in your neighborhood!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We were missing our little people and their parents so we made a valentine visit. Terry is "dancing with Julia" and that brought lots of giggles and "more..more"! We had a great supper of BBQ burgers, baked veggies, cupcakes and ice cream. In the above picture Nurse Julia decided my hurt leg needed care so I got a full VERY serious check-up and was pronounced well.
Jaqueline and I played "masterpiece"--a difficult game-- but she managed to explain it to me and then proceeded to trounce me! Tonya said when she was trying to explain it to her she finally said, "Oh mommy, just do your best!"

Baby Braden made a surprise visit--his first! He was content and relaxed after feeding. Troy is getting him used to the color purple--good choice!

The day the trees came down...

Above: Before we start...

Well, not all of them. Just the dying alders, the stressed cedars and the maple and fir trees that swayed dangerously close to the house in windstorms(about 17). Gary O. did an amazing job! He laid them down EXACTLY where he said he would.
Four right by the front porch.

The maple was huge and had to be cabled. Gary discovered it had a lot of rot so it was good to be taken down. Now we have more sun--yay!
There weren't even any plant casualties. The only one was me. The 2nd tree down, I was helping drag the big limbs out of the way after Terry cut them off. As I pulled one away, I felt like I'd been shot in the back of the leg. I must have released one of the limbs under tension from the fall. Wow--that hurt! I was very upset as I wanted to be much more helpful. I limped around all day taking pictures.
And now Terry's work begins(I hope to be a bit more helpful soon). Justin, Kelly and Janae are coming in a couple Saturdays to help. There is lots of good firewood and lots of "dump" wood to get rid of. Right now it looks like a hurricane blew through.

And baby makes 3

Braden James arrived and he's adoreable!
