Happy Birthday Janae and Katie!

After convention we head for Troy and Lisa's and celebrate Janae's birthday. It was also Katie's 5 days earlier so we do a "double-header"! Corwin, Kelly, Amy, Maureen, Katie, Jaime, Gary, Jan and all our clan wish them "happy 28"~~

Kellie S. gives Katie and Janae creative silicone potholders. These frogs have Julia captivated. Strangest puppets she's ever seen!

A Trip Through the Locks

John and Sheri take us on their boat through the locks into Lake Union. Frank, Steve and grandkids, plus Darren and Diane from Montana were along too. Wow--what a delightful trip. Picture above: the 1st mate is preparing the ropes. Below: Travis and Glenda digs--we are impressed!!

So Terry, isn't that guy way too close?

Captain and 1st mate

Joel and Coral bring dinner down to celebrate arrival of Dad Merritt and Nancy. Gourmet shishkabobs~ Below, Joel invites friend Ralph-- a big surprise for Merritt. We were delighted to see them up here after our 3 weeks with them in California. They came to see the many friends at convention. We could not believe all the people Merritt knew!

Lots of people at convention thought Nancy and I were sisters--we are!

Family Reunion at Lake Wallowa

Lake Wallowa is as beautiful as we remembered, some 20 years ago when we camped there with friends. These cousins(and spouses 2nd pix), are children of Gilbert, Bruce and Jane. There is now a 4th generation coming to these reunions. "Let's see and you are ??" Tom and Jean mostly masterminded this one and we do appreciate their efforts! It was great!
We head up the Sky Tram to top of Mount Howard. Look at the shirts--we didn't plan this really--I had my Saipan shirt on too. Guess we were all missing you Gretchen!!

Joseph, Or. home to 4 bronze foundries. We toured one--fascinating! Now we know why they cost so much, very labor intensive and "artists serving artists".

On the way home we stopped at Spout Springs where Terry skied as a boy. We have his first set of wooden skis (used on this hill) on our wall.
