Beautiful B.C.

Near Janae and Kelly's condo is a beautiful walk along the seawall. It's always one of our favorite things to do there. Theirs too. A new convention center (above) is beautiful and "green". Has a grass roof. We had a great weekend with them. Friday night a play, BBQ at their house and walk ending with dessert at wonderful restaurant near Canada Place in the train station.

On Saturday we headed up Howe Sound to Whistler. It is a magnificent drive. My photo from the car window doesn't do it justice.

Whistler Village was a very busy place. There were bikers flying down the mountain, skiers lugging their skis back from up on the glaciers and a lot of us--walking around looking for cold drinks. It was HOT!
We stayed the night in Pemberton at a lodge(below) that Kelly and Janae had stayed at before. It was very nice~ Great pool that was so warm we cooled off in the cold shower beside it! Had dinner at a cute little place called The Pony, -- amazing food. Chefs from England and France have relocated to this quiet, quaint place. The next morning we were at Betty's enjoying our Sunday. She and her husband have lived here for 50 years. Such a sweet couple.

We arrived home to a "reflected" stormy sunset...but alas..no rain. Just more heat to come. We loved BC once again Janae and Kelly--thanks!

Flowers, fishing, family, friends, and food (football?)

The Sperl's visit and we have a delightful 2 days together. Yes, they are family~!

Braden is getting to be so much fun! A very sweet baby and lots of smiles and giggles~

football around the corner?

We stayed a night in TC with our Pointer friends. George and Betty join us for dinner. We do miss these people.
Justin, Andy and Rick come for dinner. Rick brings the steaks and we have a great evening that is over much too soon...to be continued!

July--ahhh, summer!

We have our annual 4th of July/Julia's birthday at the Taylors. It is famous for their FABULOUS smoked ribs, delicious sides and cake by Suzanne. Also are the "firebugs" better known as grown-up pyrotechnicians--Chip, Dan and Justin. Troy was being Dad this year. The kids reactions are shown below. Julia had her ears covered all night--even when it was the snakes on the rock. She knew a BOOM! was just around the corner!

Happy 4th Birthday Julia!--yes, Auntie's is around the corner too, so I got a song and Tonya found some of my old books as a 5 yr. old--what a treat--I still remember reading them.
Braden's 1st 4th of July--

And moving on..........
For my 56th birthday, Terry and Drew "surprised" me after mtg with cake and song--and the next day Janae took me to a favorite sushi restaurant, Wasabi, in Bellingham.

Then Saturday, we had another party at Troy and Lisa's--minus the fireworks, unless you count Uncle Wayne, who provides his own--(sorry Wayne, couldn't resist). Lovely dinner as well!

Troy is working on his yard, making us all tired!--but it is looking wonderful.

My dear friend and former teaching partner Kaye and her family came today for lunch. It was so wonderful to see them and to see Tony, her husband, who is amazingly mostly recovered from his illness 2 years ago. I can't spell it but sort of like this Guillian-Barre? Anyway, we had a delightful time catching up and Terry taught with her sister Leslie so they caught up too. Thanks for coming you guys--let's not wait so long. They also have a new KaHS Brave, Kevin so the beat goes on!

Love this lady--! And miss teaching with her (and Jane)~

Log home labor

Every 5 years--yes, can hardly believe it's been that long since we moved in--you need to "renew" the exterior of a log home. That's caulking/washing /recoating the logs. And thank goodness for the Genie lift machine. Terry perches high in a box--much safer than a ladder or scaffolding. Lots of work but he's the man for the job! In 3 days, he'd pretty much done both ends and the peaks. I got vertigo just watching!

Danny B. who did our fireplace is now finishing our rock on the basement. Our last big project--we hope anyway. He's doing a wonderful job. He's a rock "artist"!

More from Montana

Brother Rod and son Clay above. Brother Ted below.
Sis-in-law Merle and Nettie..a very delightful duo. Yes, brother Rich, you complete the trio. His picture is in post below.

Dear Bonnie R. now in a nursing home but still alert. What a dear lady who has given so much.

Rich has an AMAZING train layout. I'd love to see it at Christmas with all the lights.

Below: Rich andTerry went to the Lewis and Clark notable spot--Fort Buford. It is where the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers meet. A very historic fort and meeting place for the 2 groups on the Lewis and Clark journey.

Janessa and her new paint. She's a beauty--well they both are~
Brother Roger (yes, that makes 5!) look over one of his Farm-all collection.
